What is SADT?

A place where people help build Syria's digital future — together.

SADT stands for Syrian Association for Digital Transformation. Think of it as a big table where people who care about Syria's technology — the internet, banking apps, government websites, and new tech companies — sit down together. They share what they know, talk about problems, and turn good ideas into things that actually get built.

You don't need to be an expert to join in. If you're curious about Syria's digital future, there's a place for you here.

The name carries the point: سداد (sadad) — a word shared across Arabic and Urdu meaning correctness and right direction. That's the whole idea: steering Syria's digital transformation onto the right path.

About SADT

Built by the people who understand Syria best — Syrians.

We believe the best ideas for Syria's digital future should come from Syrians — at home and scattered around the world. SADT connects researchers, engineers, and everyday members so a good idea doesn't get stuck with just one person. Everything we support is public, so anyone can follow along and see how it's going.

What we do

Three pillars of impact

Capacity Building & Talent

Upskilling Syrian youth in coding, data and AI, and building sustainable remote-work pathways that help keep talent connected to Syria instead of lost to it.

Infrastructure & Integration

Advocating for digital modernization and helping align local initiatives with regional and international frameworks.

Diaspora & Investment Bridges

Connecting global tech leaders and diaspora professionals with local builders to channel mentorship, capital and hands-on support.

What's here for you

Everything SADT does, in one place

Six simple things you can explore right now — no experience needed. Together they turn a question into a working group, a clear plan, and eventually a finished project.

The context

The Syrian digital landscape

A quick, honest snapshot — sourced and kept current on our Research pages, not just asserted here.

9.25M

Internet users as of late 2025 — about 36% of the population, still growing fast off a low base.

2025

Syria's first Electronic Personal Data Protection Law took effect — a real step forward, though its national-security exemptions still draw criticism.

$10M

The first direct foreign investment in a Syrian tech startup, closed in 2026 — a sign of what's possible, from a startup ecosystem still very early days.

International developers and companies still navigate real compliance and cross-border barriers day to day. That gap between opportunity and friction is exactly what SADT exists to narrow. See the full research →
